Shipping Update

Hello everyone,

We hope you are well and keeping up with any New Years Resolutions! 

In our last update we explained how we hoped to have completed shipping your orders by the end of January. Unfortunately we have encountered an issue that has prevented this from happening. During the pandemic freight rates have been be extremely volatile and far fewer-than-expected shipping options were available for the month of January that are anything like feasible. Our trusted shipping agent is currently evaluating two options to resolve the problem and ensure safe delivery for all pledges:

1) The first option would be to send all of the US and EU/UK orders through a 3rd party logistics company. These companies offer reliable deliveries and tracked shipping options despite current pandemic related freight issues. The downside would be a significantly slower shipping speed which would cause a 6-8 week delay.  

2) Our trusted shipping agent is currently finalising terms with another logistics company that has access to faster shipping channels. We expect to hear back within the next 7 business days. We would of course prefer this subtly faster option. Thankfully logistics companies do not break for CNY as long as factories do, and as all of your bags are manufactured this is the only hurdle left! 

Finally, some good news for our Asian backers - The wider APAC region remains relatively unaffected as pandemic related shipping disruptions are at a minimum. We don’t expect major delays for our Asian backers and will ship once CNY ends in February. 

Our main priority is ensuring safe delivery and tracked shipping so currently the the more likely scenario is that we have to choose Option 1) which would result in 6-8 weeks slower shipping for US/EU/UK. While this is a disappointing delay, we know it'll be worth the wait and you'll love your ESCAPE bags!

The Escape Team is finally circling back with a swift update! We are working through the holidays to ensure you receive your pledges very soon.

IT'S A WRAP!

Here are the main highlights:

• We have finished production. Everything went according to plan.
• We are perfectly within the schedule published in latest update.
• All items have received confirmation from our certification agent.
• Items are en-route to the logistics center as we speak.
• Each pledge will be sorted next week.
• Your pledge will leave the logistic center over the course of January

INITIAL PRODUCTION & SHIPPING SCHEDULE:

10 October - Production-ready prototype was certified.

17 October - Production started.

Mid December - Production will finish. (DONE)

End December - Certification Agent approves batch. (DONE)

Mid January 2022 - Shipping process starts. (PENDING)

End January 2022 - Shipping completes, project will be finished. (PENDING)

Production on finish line, Shipping starts shortly

Hi all,

GOOD NEWS, we are approaching the finish line! Apologies for not publishing an in-depth update earlier but we we decided to heavily focus on production to avoid delays and keep our backers happy :)

DETAILS MATTER TO US:

When finalising samples, our designer and production partner have made improvements to the following details. Getting the nitty gritty details perfectly right had consumed the majority of our focus in recent weeks.

IMPROVEMENTS MADE:

1. Improved ergonomic design of the shuttle insert
2. Upgraded honeycomb 3D mesh netting for straps
3. Superior waterproof zippers
4. Laser etch logo application

We are mostly in line with the anticipated schedule and will start shipping very shortly!

PRODUCTION & SHIPPING SCHEDULE:

10 October - Production-ready prototype was certified.

17 October - Production started.

Mid December - Production will finish.

End December - Certification Agent approves batch.

Mid January 2022 - Shipping process starts.

End January 2022 - Shipping completes, project will be finished.

Please ensure to fill your Backerkit surveys and double check that your address data is accurate. Insurance companies usually will not cover lost items due to insufficient and/or outdated. address data.

Production Underway

Hi all,

Just a quick one because we've had messages from people concerned that the lack of survey responses was continuing to cause delays. We have now placed the order with the factory and production is underway.

We are a little behind schedule, that delay was definitely unexpected but the important thing is we have progress at last! 

Next update will be photos from production!

77% Survey Completion

Hi Everyone,

We're approaching the point where the finer details are worked out and we're about ready to place the order with the manufactures but there is a bit of snag... too few of you have so far filled in the address survey.

Currently we have 77% completion, we'd like this to be 85% or higher before we confirm quantities and place the order.
